Faisalabad [Pakistan], January 30 (ANI): Human Rights Focus Pakistan (HRFP), a Faisalabad-based human rights group, has partnered with the Taiwan Foundation for Democracy (TFD) to raise the issue of minority rights in Pakistan on international platforms.
Minorities in Pakistan such as Hindus and Christians are regularly targeted by Islamic fundamentalists, according to an official HRFP statement. Girls from minority communities here are kidnapped and forcibly converted to Islam, and even religious places and educational institutions in minority communities are frequently attacked.
“The issues and cases that are to be investigated by fact-finding missions will be undertaken by us. Printing and publication materials will also be issued on the issues and for awareness and recommendations,” HRFP said.

HRFP, TFD and Human Rights Defenders (HRDs) will hold monthly meetings to share the challenges that need to be addressed, said Naveed Walter, president of HRFP.
The statement further states: “Consultation meetings with multiple stakeholders at the national level, meetings with human rights and relevant departments, awareness raising through all types of media and promotion of the activities of the democracy, including the observance of National Minority Day, are our main activities “.
The HRFP operates a 24/7 hotline to protect minorities in Pakistan. (ANI)
